Violin Concerto

I started this in 2011 and completed it in 2018. My aim was to combine lyricism with a sense of movement. Vaughan Williams' "Lark Ascending" was the original inspiration, but the structure comes from Shostakovich and there are references to Prokofiev too. The instrumentation is loosely based on Mendelssohn's with full strings and woodwind and small brass and percussion sections.
