I wrote this piece when I was 17. I was struggling to play the organ at the time and wanted something that was technically a bit easier than the Bach fugues we were working on. I'm quite proud of writing a competent if musically unexciting fugue on my first attempt, though I notice that even then I couldn't resist a joke ending of which Bach would probably not have approved. My organ studies didn't get very much further (A-levels took over), but I hope this might be of interest to other struggling organ students.
